Scudds claims championship

Nine ladies took part in the Millicent Bowls Club’s Championship Singles for the 2021/22 season.

All games were played to the first player to reach 21 shots up, with the Grand Final being played to 25 shots up.

The games started at 8.30am and were played to the finish of the Preliminary Final.

Ros Varcoe and Andrea Radley played off in one game, while Sarah Ross and Lyn Scudds played off in the second game.

Varcoe and Scudds showed their skills to win their way into the decider.

The Grand Final was played on the following day at 9.30am.

After nine ends Scudds enjoyed a small lead three-shot lead and a tight game was in store.

By the 25th end her lead was reduced to three shots as Varcoe cut it back to just three shots.

Eventually after the 27th end Scudds was able to seal the game reaching the target of 25 shots to become the Ladies’ Singles Champion holder for the 2021/22 season.
