The search has begun to find a senior nurse to take charge of the 60-bed Sheoak Lodge aged care facility attached to Millicent Hospital.
Cosimo Greco has stepped down recently after six years as Nurse Unit Manager.
He also represented the hospital’s 150 staff on the Millicent Health Advisory Council.
Limestone Coast Local Health Network chief executive Emma Poland has welcomed the support of Glenda Bennison as Acting Nurse Unit Manager of Sheoak Lodge.
“The health and wellbeing of residents and staff will be well supported and managed by Ms Bennison, due to her long-standing roles within the facility, including former Nurse Unit Manager and current Associate Nurse Unit Manager,” said Ms Poland.
“She also regularly backfilled the Nurse Unit Manager role during annual leave.
“The recruitment process to fill the position at Sheoak Lodge is under way.
“We thank Mr Greco for his care and support of our residents during his tenure and wish him well.
Sheoak Lodge was found to be compliant in all 43 standards following its latest three-yearly accreditation visit by the Australian Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.
It met all requirements after intense scrutiny including a three-day inspection by independent and unidentified assessors early in this financial year.
The Sheoak Lodge operating licence was extended for the maximum three-year term until September, 2027.
