Semi-finals hit out at golf club

On a day that was much too warm and much too dry, the Mount Gambier Golf Club ladies played a stableford round, while the finalists continued playing the semi-finals of the club championship.


The in-form Janina Morrison (19) took out the stableford honours with 37 points while Diann Norman (22) was a close second with 36 points.


Special prizes were awarded to Jeanette Braun for nearest the pin on the 8th hole, Carol Smith took won the nearest the pin second shot for B Grade and Julie Hanel for C Grade.


In the ball rundown balls were awarded to six ladies from Pauline Paterson (33) with 35 points to Helen McIntyre on 32 points.


On Saturday 20 ladies played in the Griffin Plumbing Women’s Stableford Competition.


In first place was Jennifer Van Rijthoven (12) on 36 points, closely followed by Helen Heaver (24) on 35 points on a countback from Leanne Hunt (11) also on 35 points.


The pro-shot on the 8th was taken out by Trudy Johnson and the nearest the pin was awarded to Jennifer Van Rijthoven.
