Small talk makes a big difference

Small talk makes a big difference

This Thursday marks R U OK? Day – and this year organisers are asking all Australians to consider how the people in their world are really going.

The Australia-wide event is held to inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and start a conversation with those in their world who may be struggling with life

Life’s ups and downs happen to all of us.

So, chances are someone you know might be struggling.

Your genuine support can make a difference whatever they are facing, big or small.

So, do not wait until someone’s visibly distressed or in crisis.

Make a moment meaningful and ask them how they’re really going.

‘Are they really OK? Ask them today’. Your conversation could change a life.

There will be an R U OK? Day virtual event on Thursday, starting at 12.30pm AEST.

Speakers will include media personality and R U OK? Ambassador Sam McMillan, R U OK? Chief executive Katherine Newton and psychologist and suicidologist Ann-Marie Fardell Hartley.

Visit eventbrite.com.au/e/2021-r-u-okday-webinar-tickets to register to attend.

On Thursday The SE Voice will publish an R U OK? Day feature, to help members of our community to look after each
other.
