South East veterans salute season in style

A record field turned out at Millicent for the last game of the SE Veterans Golf season.

A few good scores resulted but most of the field could not cope with the wind which got stronger as the day wore on. Attamurra’s Barry Brook took out First division with a creditable 40 points.

Local Spike Warren came second on a countback from Robe’s Gordie Fleming both on 37.

Second Division went to the old stalwart, Bruce Packer with 39 from another local Rob Thompson on 37 and Attamurra’s Rob Sims on 36.

The Ross Orchard trophy went to John Kamp from Blue Lake and Neal Rowe from Port MacDonnell.

Jimmy Hyland turned into Santa donating seven dozen balls so the full field got a ball each.

The four nearest the pin winners got two each as well.

But on a sad note we recently lost 400+ game member with the passing of Roy Mitchell. Vale Roy.

Our next outing is at Kingston on Monday, Jan 17 next year.
