Staff turnover at Wattle Range Council is substantially higher than usual according to its chief executive Ben Gower.
He was responding to a query from Councillor Moira Neagle at the April monthly council meeting.
Cr Neagle asked how many employees had left the council in the past 12 months.
In reply, Mr Gower said he did not have that exact number on hand but would take that question on notice.
He said a buoyant labour market currently existed and all departing staff were offered an exit interview.
From that feedback, Mr Gower said they were taking up opportunities in the capital cities and at other councils in this region.
Cr Neagle suggested in a tongue-in-cheek fashion that he “up the fun quota” and Mayor Des Noll said Mr Gower had such matters in hand.
The most recent annual report stated that council had the equivalent of 134.4 full-time employees.
