Prime Minister Anthony Albanese (pictured) and former Mount Gambier resident and State Attorney General Kyam Maher MLC had key roles in the State funeral for the late Dr Lowitja O’Donoghue at St Peter’s Anglican Cathedral in North Adelaide this afternoon.
Mr Albanese paid tribute to Dr O’Donoghue and her trail-blazing ways while Mr Maher read one of the lessons from the New Testament.
It was a fitting tribute to a wonderful Australian with all credit to the clergy, two choirs, organist, speakers, entertainer Paul Kelly, Uncle Moogy and many more.
The traditional aspects of a Christian burial blended seamlessly with First Nations culture over the course of 90 minutes.
