Hastings Cunninghame Reserve is set to be a shining sea of chrome on Saturday, as the Trident Tyre Centre South East Street Machines 45th annual Show ‘n’ Shine revs up.

The event gives local and visiting car enthusiasts the opportunity to show off their pride and joy.

The show ‘n’ shine is open to modified, high performance, restored, survivor, vintage, classic, muscle, rare or unusual cars, motorcycles, trucks and competition vehicles.

There will be prizes on offer for a range of different categories including paintwork, originality and distance travelled.

Members of the public will be eligible to win $50 fuel vouchers in lucky draw for voting for entries, and entrants are encouraged to vote on other cars.

The Hastings Cunnigham Reserve will be a larger area than usual for the show’n’shine to allow more local participation.

If the vehicle is not registered it can still be put on display as long as it can be transported to the venue legally, with plenty of space available for transporters and trailers.

The SES will also be displaying some of its vehicles to the public on the day with the vehicles located in a spot to allow a quick exit should it be required.

Display vehicles can enter the grounds from 8.30am, with the event opening to the public at 9.30am.

People are encouraged to attend the event even though it is the AFL Grand Final day as the trophy presentation will occur at 1.30pm, allowing people to get back to watch the game in time.

Food will be available with a barbecue cooked up by 5GTR, there will also be coffee, ice cream and a donut van.

Show ‘n’ shine shirts will be available to order on the day for those who wish to purchase.

Entry to the event will be $5.
