Alocal school has raised more than $2000 for the Cancer Council thanks to an Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser.
Allendale East Area School (AEAS) raised $2237.10 for the organisation, hosting community members in their gymnasium for the event with tunes by Brenton Williams and a guest speaker Kylie Hales from ‘Cottages 4 Country Care.’
AEAS student support officer Elivia Stanley said the event provided the school’s Fundraising Student Leadership Team with a valuable opportunity to gain hands on experience in event management, customer service and fundraising.
“It was rewarding for the team to host not only families and friends of the school community and class mates, but also guests from Mount Gambier and beyond,” she said.
“When guests started to arrive the Fundraising Leadership Team warmly welcomed them and ensured everyone felt at home, they prepared tea and coffee and their friendly service was very much appreciated.
“Their efforts did not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly proud of their dedication and hard work.
“The event was not only a delightful social gathering but also a meaningful opportunity to raise awareness and funds for a worthy cause.
“We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the day. Your presence and support are invaluable, and they help strengthen the bonds within our school community.
“We hope to keep growing this event and providing a rewarding experience for our students.”
