Swift response praised following mill worker injury

An ambulance was called from Millicent to the KCA Millicent Mill last week in response to a report of a traumatic injury.

A long-standing company employee received a knock to the head on Wednesday afternoon.

He was initially treated at the scene by first aiders and then transported by ambulance to the Mount Gambier Hospital where he was observed and underwent testing.

It was established the man had suffered minor bruising and he was discharged later in the day.

KCA Millicent Mill manager Adam Carpenter has praised the mill and ambulance personnel for their prompt response.

Mr Carpenter said the health and safety of its workforce was a high priority for his company.
