Our communities would not function without volunteers.
Regional towns are built, held together and thrive from the time, support and compassion our volunteers give to our communities.
Whether it’s lending a hand at sport clubs, delivering Meals on Wheels, extending a helping hand with St Vincent De Paul, or providing support through organisations like the Red Cross and CFS, volunteers provide crucial support, especially in times of crisis.
As I traverse the vast expanse of my electorate of MacKillop, I am continually humbled by the countless volunteers who selflessly devote their time and energy to uplift others.
Their acts of kindness, no matter how big or small, ripple outward, leaving an indelible mark on the communities they serve.
To those who are yet to embark on their volunteering journey, know there is something for everyone, and your willingness to serve will not only enrich the lives of others but also fill vital roles within your community.
As we reflect on Volunteer Week 2024, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every volunteer, for their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment.
Your contributions do not go unnoticed, for you are the beating heart and soul of our communities.
