Trainees take first steps toward career

A group of trainees have recently graduated after completing an introduction in entry to care subjects and received their first certificates.

MEGT Recruitment Management Services has been collaborating with the Limestone Coast Local Heath Network to provide opportunities for traineeships within the aged care sector in Naracoorte, Bordertown, Mount Gambier, Kingston, Penola and Millicent.

This is a new program instigated to encourage careers in the local care environment.

The course provided an great opportunity for those looking to begin a career in the health sector, but did not have prior experience.

The students were able to complete a Cert III in Individual Support (Aged Care or Disability) and to learn to support the elderly or disabled both on the job and in a classroom environment.

The trainees have a dedicated mentor to help with the learning journey and this has the potential to lead to many, many career opportunities at the conclusion of traineeship.
