United eager to find spark

Men

Naracoorte United v Apollo

Apollo will head to Naracoorte to take on Naracoorte United this Sunday.

United is coming off a tough 7-0 defeat to Gambier Centrals last week and will be looking to bounce back from that performance.

Apollo should be fresh and ready for this game after having the bye.

Both teams have not had the best start to the season as they are both still looking for their first win.

Apollo will need to play like they did in the first half of their match against Inter.

In that game they were playing good football and were competing hard with Inter.

For United they need to play like they did against Blue Lake in round one.

Last week they did not have the spark they have in the week before.

United will need Kevin Marshall to step up again like what he did against Blue Lake.

Gambier Centrals v Blue Lake

Gambier Centrals will take on Blue Lake at MGA Park on Sunday.

Centrals played their first game last week and came away with a 7-0 win, which will give the side a lot of confidence heading into this game.

Blue Lakes’ spirits will also be high after being down 3-0 to Inter last week and coming back to win 5-4.

A worry for Blue Lake is their defence.

So far they have conceded seven goals in two games which is something they will have to work on because so far they are not beating teams with their defence but they are just trying to outscore them to get the win.

Centrals need to play another good team game like they did last week.

In last week’s game everyone got involved with five players scoring last week.

With both sides playing Naracoorte already, Centrals played much better than the Rangers as they kept a clean sheet in the game.

This should give them a good game plan ahead of this game.

Gambier Centrals v Blue Lake

Centrals will take on Blue Lake at Blue Lake Sports Park on Saturday.

Both teams are coming off the back of solid wins in the last round.

Centrals started off slow with the score being 0-0 at half time in their game.

They bounced back in the second half to score two goals.

This week they will need to start strong and capitalise on their opportunities if they want to get the three points.

Blue Lake has had a solid start to the season, starting the year undefeated.

They did not play the best against Inter, coming away with the 1-0 win.

Both of these sides have a good team and are very well coached so this should be a great game.

International v Millicent United

Inter will play Millicent at Casadio Park on Sunday.

Inter has not had the best start to the season, losing both of their games so far.

Millicent has been up and down this year, winning their first game followed up by a loss last week.

Both sides were unlucky last week, going down to their opposition 1-0.

In Inter’s game last week they had lots of great runs on the wing and were unlucky to not score in the game.

Inter will be hungry this week for a win, whereas Millicent will be looking to bounce back after a tough loss.

Naracoorte United v Apollo

Apollo will head to Naracoorte to face Naracoorte United on Sunday.

Apollo has had a great start to the season and has been very good defensively so far as they have not conceded a goal yet.

Naracoorte on the other hand has struggled so far as they are still looking for their first win.

In a game like this United will be heavy underdogs with nothing to lose which could result in an interesting finish.

Apollo will need to score more goals then they did last week if they want to come away with another win.

For Naracoorte they just need to try and match Apollo’s intensity for the whole game which will be a factor in them staying in it.
