The Borderline Speedway wrapped up its 2024/25 season on Saturday with an action packed night of racing filled with Sprintcars, Super Rods and Street Stocks.
It was a quick night for racing with rain looming, with organisers keeping the night running smoothly to ensure the races were completed before the heavens opened.
Event organiser Cary Jennings said it was a good night of racing despite the threatening weather.
“It was a good night, we had a good roll up of competitors in Sprintcar, Super Rods and Street Stocks,” he said.
“We thank all of those competitors for supporting the Easter trail as well as the patrons on the hill.
“Some of them braved the weather so it was great of them to support the Borderline Speedway.”
Warrnambool’s Bailey Pitcher took out first place in the Super Rods, with Jamie May coming in second while Stan Marco Jr closed out the podium in third.

Just missing out of the top three was local driver Josh Aston who finished in fourth place.
The Street Stocks category attracted a good turn out of local drivers with Thomas Garner taking out first place, Hamilton’s Stefan Clark finishing in second and another local in Cory Crafter finishing third – marking his first podium finish in his career.
In the main Sprintcar Easter Trail – which was night two of the event – there were over 30 laps completed with an incident on lap two resulting in the six competitors unable to finish the race.
Taking out the top spot in the Easter Trail was Warrnambool’s Jamie Veal with Tasmanian Tate Frost in second and Ian Madsen from NSW finishing third.
The first local home in the race was Daniel Pestka who took first place at Avalon the night before and finished on the podium in Warrnambool on Sunday night.
Overall Jennings was pleased the final show of the season went well.
“All in all we got what we wanted to get done and it was a great night by all of us,” he said.
“I’m pleased that we got our final show for the year done.”
The Borderline Speedway will be back in action for another season in November.
