Veterans find peace at Robe

The innovative veterans support program Robe 2 Recovery is looking for further community support.

A spokesperson said the local group is dedicated to empowering veterans and their families.

“Since the start of Robe 2 Recovery back in 2015, it has hosted over 70 veterans in their journey to recovery by offering a complimentary holiday home, and a welcome gift basket to start their relaxing holiday in Robe,” the spokesperson said.

“This year we have hosted on average two veterans a month, giving them a chance to get away from the hustle and bustle and noise of the city to relax and rejuvenate in Robe.

“On arrival we provide holiday accommodation as well as business gift vouchers, wine, chocolates, Anzac biscuits, jams, flowers, Robe experience vouchers – fishing charters, mountain biking, 4-wheel driving and more.

“The support of the community can make a significant difference in the lives of those who have served our country selflessly.

“With generous donations from the community, we can continue providing vital resources and programs to help veterans rebuild their lives and thrive in their civilian journey.

“This month of September, we are encouraging the community of Robe to support a local business and also support the Robe 2 Recovery Veterans program.”
