Voice remains

The South East will continue to have another voice in the upper echelons of the Liberal Party as Lachlan Haynes was re-elected as one of the four vice-presidents at the party’s recent annual general meeting in Adelaide.

The Naracoorte resident is perhaps best known as the chairman of the Radiation Treatment Limestone Coast Working Party which has been lobbying for this facility for several months.

With a background in agriculture and viticulture, Mr Haynes nowadays works in the Mount Gambier electorate office of Liberal Member for Barker Tony Pasin.

Among his past Liberal Party roles have been Naracoorte branch president, MacKillop State Electorate Committee president, Barker Federal Electorate Committee secretary and Rural and Regional Council chairman.

He has reportedly expressed an interest in contesting the seat of MacKillop as the Liberal Party candidate at the next poll in 2026.
