The South East women’s zone squad has been announced, with the side to contest the South Australian Country Women’s Championships in July.
Each zone competing in the championships nominates a playing squad of 22 players, with the players eligible to compete in all scheduled matches.
Kybybolite’s Chris Boston will coach the team, assisted by assistant coach Scarlett Jarrad from Casterton Sandford.
The players have been selected from across the Limestone Coast, with Casterton Sandford’s Chloe Finnigan, Holly Smith, Hinemoa Bidfle-Maitland, Libby Altorfer, Macy Fuller and Tessa Marra chosen.
Kongorong’s Evie Sealey, Zara Dirk and Sarah Lucas have been selected, along with Kybybolite’s Dellie Brown, Ella Boston, Jedah Huf, Taylor Ryan and Kate Edmonds.
Millicent players Kelsie Wilkinson, Chloe Gronn, Sienna Laslett, Isabella Wilson, Macy Burns and Amber Chester are in the squad, along with Mundulla’s Kellsie Turner, Zoe Hawker, Brooke Ballinger, Erin Horsnell, Nat Twigden, Kate Maddern and Mel Maddern.
Ebony Wurst and Skye Virtanen have been named from Nangwarry, along with North Gambier’s Tess Andrews, Alice Tentye, Chloe Newton, Chloe Perryman, Laura Chester, Penny Coleman, Georgia Gentile, Grace Altschwager and Fiona Young.
Penola will be represented by Caroline McGrath, Heidi Berkin, Riley Mitchell, Ellise Berkin, Angela Broad and Shandeen Balshaw, in addition to South Gambier’s Jarrah Altschwager, Sophie Wight, Lucy Pridham, Abby Thompson and Ella Guest.
The squad will commence training early next month and will continue to train leading up to the carnival.
The championships will be held on July 13 and 14 in Victor Harbor.
