A Coonawarra vigneron has nominated to replace resigned councillor Rick Paltridge on Wattle Range Council.
The Penola grazier resigned as a Riddoch ward representative with immediate effect on August 3 after almost three years in office.
Chris Brodie hopes to succeed him and was the only candidate at press time.
Nominations will be accepted until noon today (Thursday).
A candidate briefing session for intending candidates was held by council chief executive Ben Gower at Penola last week and Mr Brodie was present.
Mr Brodie is the General Manager – Vineyards for Katnook Estate.
Before his current role, he worked at Wingara Wine Group (Deakin Estate) in Mildura and had an earlier career in horticulture.
