Wattle Range Council is once again calling for the nomination of outstanding community members and groups for the recognition of their achievements through the annual Australia Day Awards program.
The national theme of the 2022 awards is ‘Reflect. Respect. Celebrate’.
Mayor Des Noll said nominations were open for Citizen, Young Citizen, Community Event and Active Citizenship of the Year Awards.
“The latter award recognises outstanding work in the past year where the person is not required to be an Australian citizen,” he said.
“It is a great honour to be nominated.
The awards provide an opportunity to recognise the outstanding contribution and community service by dedicated individuals in the fields of agriculture, education, health, fundraising, charitable and voluntary services, business, sport, arts, the environment, or any other activity that contributes to the advancement and well-being of our community and which makes Wattle Range a great place to live and work.
“We invite community members to nominate a young person, individual or community event for the awards. Nominations from our community are essential in making the awards successful.”
