A mechanical malfunction caused a vehicle to leave the Princes Highway at Tantanoola at around noon on Saturday and come to a stop in a paddock.

The mishap occurred near the Caves Roadhouse and there were no injuries.

The various branches of the emergency services were notified of the incident but did not attend.

Police said an RAA mechanic provided assistance.
