Emergency service call

Emergency service call

An appeal by Robe Mayor Lisa Ruffell for additional volunteers for the local CFS and SA Ambulance Service has been heeded by at least one seaside resident.

Her husband Martin Ruffell has put up his hand and will donate his time in the firefighting service.

In her latest monthly mayoral message, Mayor Ruffell said she wanted to once again raise the alarm for the urgent need at Robe in volunteers for the CFS and ambulance.

“Volunteers are an integral part of our community, and the emergency services are screaming out for volunteers,” Mayor Ruffell said.

“You would be amazed by the positions available and the opportunities that are provided to you as a volunteer.

“CFS are not just looking for people to go on their trucks, they are in desperate need of radio operators and other administrative-based tasks.

“After suggestions to my husband this is a great opportunity to be involved, Martin has signed up as a volunteer for the CFS.

“He is absolutely loving it and has started his training.”
