International is through to the Barry Maney Group Limestone Coast Premier League grand final after causing an upset over Blue Lake in the preliminary final.

Heading into the match Blue Lake was favourite to get the job done having finished the season in second place, however International came out firing and delivered a fantastic performance to secure a grand final spot.

International headed into the match in winning form, while Blue Lake were coming off a defeat to Apollo in the previous round.

Early chances were sparse between the two sides as neither could get an early lead.

Eventually Evany Rex broke through the Blue Lake defence to open the scoring for the match.

The 24th minute opener from Rex gave International the lead and was then doubled less than 10 minutes later with Rex once again the scorer.

In the 33rd minute Blue Lake found itself 2-0 down and needing to respond, the Rangers response did not come in the first half as it finished two goals down.

Blue Lake came out firing in the second half and showed some real fight against International.

Jasmine White once again found the back of the net to give Blue Lake some hope of a comeback.

Hopes were then lifted when Chelsea White scored in the 61st minute to equalise.

International had an almost immediate response with Tess Andrews scoring in the 65th minute to take back the lead for International.

International held on as Blue Lake charged home looking for an equaliser.

The final whistle blew confirming the team in black and blue would be going through to the grand final.

Blue Lake will be disappointed to have not got the chance to go back to back but will look to next season with hopes of finding its 2022 form.

Now International will turn its attention to Apollo.

The blue and white have been the team to chase all season and International will need to be at its best to beat Apollo.
