The Port MacDonnell Community Centre recently hosted a very popular author event with former Tantanoola resident Maya Linnell.

Prior to the main event, guests were treated to a light lunch of rolls and homemade soup which was then followed by local journalist Gretel Sneath interviewing the guest-of-honour about her work.

She spoke of her new title “Kookaburra Cottage’ as well as her four previous rural romance titles, her inspirations, and her journey of transitioning into becoming an accomplished author.

Ms Linnell thanked the 43 in attendance for a warm winter welcome on a blustery coastal day.

“Many thanks to the team at Port MacDonnell for a fantastic event, fellow journo and friend Gretel Sneath for hosting and the readers, friends and family who came along,” she said.

“It was so great to talk about my first Limestone Coast novel in the Limestone Coast.”

Ms Linnell will be talking about her new book at the Mount Gambier Library at 7pm on July 31.

Those wishing to attend this event are encouraged to contact the Mount Gambier Library on 8721 2540.
