Public library books in biggest morning tea event

Another venue in Millicent has become a place to host Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea as a fundraiser for the Cancer Council.

Around 80 people were treated to delicious scones last week at the Millicent Public Library.

They were freshly made by the volunteers who usually donate their time working on the local history collection housed in the Bruce Towers Room.

Together with the raffle proceeds, over $800 was raised for the Cancer Council.

Millicent resident Anne Hughes brought her husband Peter and parents Noel and Pat Seebohm to the fundraiser.

Ms Hughes said she was happy to support the cause as so many people are affected by cancer.

“Congratulations to the volunteers responsible for the Biggest Morning Tea held at the Millicent Library,” Ms Hughes said.

“The scones were delicious and the amount of money raised for cancer support was amazing.

“You are all superstars!”
