Robe properties set price record

Robe has retained its long-held ranking of having the South East region’s dearest real estate with the median house price soaring to a record $622,000.


Built around the pristine waters of Guichen Bay, the median house price at Robe jumped by 9.1% during the 2023 calendar year.


The seaside sales data was boosted by a number of seven-figure sales including Karatta House on the shores of Lake Butler.


It is a two-storey mansion which was designed and built around 1858.


The house is included on the Register of State Heritage and the new owners are the Bell family, of Millicent.


The strength of the Robe market will be gauged this month as a number of house auctions are scheduled.


According to information published in the city press, Penola achieved the highest rise in the median house price in this region in the past 12 months.


Penola houses rose by almost 15% to a record $355,000.


Naracoorte’s median house price was $327,000 at the beginning of 2023 and ended the year on $346,000.


This represents an increase of almost 6%.


Millicent’s near-record median house price of $336,000 represents a hefty 11.5% jump over the course of the year.


Mount Gambier had the highest number of house and unit sales in the Limestone Coast.


The median house price in the Blue Lake City rose more than 9% to a record $422,000 while the unit price is now $299,000 following a 10% rise.
