Afield of 46 took to the greens at Lucindale for a round of SE Veterans Golf.
The golfers found the course in great condition, albeit hard, because it had hosted pennants there the day before.
Milan Hodak of Kingston was one of the previous day’s participants, and so he just snuck home the first division on a countback with 35 points, from Tim McLean, and another Mount Gambier-ite, Russell Lewis on 34.
Second division went to Noel Chant of Millicent with 34, from Mount Gambier’s Max Clifford on 32 and Dennis “Shiner” Smith with 31.
The ball rundown was to 25 points and the Ross Orchard trophy went to Col “Swampy” Wright and Geoff Bond.
Kevin and Jackie Baker made sure the competitors had a lovely lunch of braised steak and onion, and the Scotch was taken home by Kingston’s Bruce Stillwell.
The next game is at Millicent on July 17 followed by Robe on July 31.
