Tenison Titans rise above competition

The Tenison Woods College Titans are shooting goals, having just won two state basketball titles recently.

A team of 23 Year 7 and 8 Tenison Woods College players travelled to Adelaide for the Knockout State Finals and both teams came away with the coveted state championship.

Both the girls and boys teams played three round-robin games where their efforts allowed them to progress to a semi-final with ease.

Both of the cut-throat matches were hard-fought contests, but both of the Titans sides managed to come away with a win to advance to the grand final.

The girls played first matching up against a strong Immanuel College side which the Titans had previously lost to in the round-robin competition.

The girls stepped up for what they knew would be a difficult game and produced an incredible performance to win 26-10 and be crowned state champions.

The boys matched up against a powerful side from Concordia College which they also lost to in the round-robin series.

The match was a thriller and came down to overtime where the boys showed fight and determination to nab the win 26-24.

Led by coaches Tom Daly and Kym Hammond and assistant Elyse Willoughby, there was an display of sportsmanship and teamwork on and off the court.

They praised the support of the dedicated staff and supportive families.
