Vignerons welcome back experience

Vignerons welcome back experience

Heidi Guyett (nee Eldridge) has returned to her role in Coonawarra as the Coonawarra Vignerons events and marketing officer.

Ms Guyett left her role in Coonawarra for a brief stint at Limestone Coast Tourism before returning to her former roots at the Coonawarra Vignerons Association.

“It’s full-throttle, there’s never a dull moment at Coonawarra,” Ms Guyett said.

“Returning to the role and having an understanding of what’s on the calendar and the progress of the events, where we need to be at what stage, I have been able to dive right in and get on top of that.

“The benefit of being back in the seat is that I have got the insight to the historic events and you can jump straight in to get the planning going for those future events.

“I had the short time at Limestone Coast Tourism which was fabulous.

“To start a new role and learn it as you’re going is very different to getting back into something that you have done, I can do it with my eyes shut.

“It’s straight back into it.”

Ms Guyett said during the “quiet spells” in Coonawarra a lot of work was being done behind the scenes to prepare for the next showcase, whether it be in or out of region.

“There’s plenty to keep us busy,” she said.

“Obviously these last few years this period has been a little bit quieter because of the absence of the roadshow but that has not made it any less busy with everything else that goes on.

“I’m flattered to have had the opportunity to come back, so it’s nice to know the work that I had done in the past has been valued to have been taken on again.”
