Charges laid over stolen car crash

Two people were arrested after a stolen vehicle failed to stop for police at Glenburnie on Friday afternoon.

About 1.30pm on Friday police spotted a stolen Ford Ranger ute outside Mount Gambier.

The vehicle was pursued for a short distance before it lost control and crashed into another car containing two small children at the corner of Princes Highway and Glenelg Highway, Glenburnie.

Fortunately, the occupants of the second vehicle were not injured in the crash.

The driver of the stolen car, a 23-year-old Tarpeena woman, and her passenger, a 30-year-old Tarpeena man, both sustained minor injuries and were taken to the Mount Gambier Hospital.

They were both taken into police custody and inquiries are continuing.
